Oh how I just adore the family I’m blogging about today. I’m lucky enough to say I’ve been photographing the Latimer family since 2011! I truly can’t believe how much the children have grown and changed since I first met them.
Abby is the sweetest big sister and loves to twirl around like a ballerina while Grayson loves anything construction equipment related (who ever said girls and boys weren’t different?!). Little Emma, well, lets just say she’s the happiest baby in the world!
And, as it goes without saying, the Latimers have become friends over the time we’ve worked together. It’s hard not to become friends with someone like Meredith, who is so gracious and gentle-hearted (and a talented graphic designer!). Dad and husband, Brannon, is just as great… a man’s man who loves mountains and fly fishing.
When Meredith contacted me to take their photos again, I couldn’t wait to see the outfits she was going to put together. As you can see, she did a smashing job! They all wore some combo of navy blue and mustard yellow. The majority of the items were from Old Navy, Gap, JCrew and Anthropologie (lots of mix and match). The girl’s headbands were from Etsy.
As for the day of the shoot, I enjoyed the unique challenge the weather brought us that day. It was windy and the clouds continued to move. Thankfully, the home where we shot had a covered patio that blocked us from the wind and the perfectly wispy clouds diffused the sun at just the right time, enabling us to photograph in that particular spot.
As for a tip from the wise, Meredith shares, “Bring rewards for your kids to hand out as soon as their part in the shoot in finished; don’t be too fussy about clothes or facial expressions with the kids – the “real” shots are so great and such better memories for you to keep.” My precious assistant did an amazing job keeping the kids entertained and laughing!
Okay, enough text. Check out the fabulous Latimer family!
