{my home} – fort worth real estate photography

We were recently in need of pictures of our home. I was thus challenged with the task of conveying the beauty of our lovely home in pictures. I think getting the baby clutter out of the way was the hardest part! Can I just say how much I’ve grown to love our home. It’s so warm and cozy (well, except in the winter time;)

{matilda jane trunk show} – fort worth photography

I’m so excited to be hosting my second annual Matilda Jane Trunk Show! For those unfamiliar with it, Matilda Jane is a boutique clothing line dedicated to creating fresh and fun dresses, skirts and tops for all the princesses in our lives. The brilliant thing about Matilda Jane clothing is that each clothing item is not only little girl friendly, but also 100% mother approved. Finally a compromise between style and trends created just for young girls 8 and under. They also have lots of beautiful pieces for us women! I wear mine ALL the time b/c they’re so comfy and flattering.

These outfits really are a work of art and can only be found in her online store or at trunk shows. The benefit to a trunk show is you actually get to see these beautiful works of art in person, hold them in your hands, and even try them on!

{photo contest!!!} – fort worth photography

For fun, I’ve decided to host a photo contest. There are SO many incredibly talented folks out there and it’s always fun to show off a few of your favorite images. And the winners will receive a free subscription to Rangefinder magazine (LOVE this magazine)!

The rules are simple. 1) Email me one of your favorite images to amandalynnphoto@yahoo.com. 2) Provide me with your Name, address, and phone number.

Sadly this is open to US mailing addresses only. There will be two winners, one for the portrait category (anything where people are the main subject of the image) and one for the non-portrait category. I had the opportunity recently to photography a local musician, Charlie Reed. He is releasing his first album and launching his website and I had the privilege of photographing him for these projects. I loved his style when I heard it and I think you will to. You might recall a month or so ago, I posted about trying out a new style of shooting that I would plan on using with high school seniors (and shoots like this one). For those who are curious, it’s actually shooting with a flash that’s not on my camera (aka “off camera flash” :) . It enables me to shoot in situations that I wouldn’t normally be able to. Like this image above. We were in bright sunlight around 6:15pm and the sun was behind him. Normally (had I shot without the flash), either his face would’ve been super dark or the background would’ve been super bright. But now, here we go, we were able to get that “field” shot he was wanting and everything looks wonderful!

I purposefully took Dawson’s 2 month portraits in the same outfit I took Hudson’s to compare them. I’ve had most people say they don’t resemble each other and I’d have to agree. But a few think they do. What do you think?

{6×6 art album} – fort worth senior photographry

I am always looking for new, different or better products to offer my clients and recently became aware of the album I’m blogging about now. I currently offer an 8×8 and 10×10 album but wanted a smaller option… I ran across a different album company that offers a 6×6 that was perfect!

It has different qualities than the two larger albums so in a way, it’s a product of it’s own. Instead of the pages being printed on “photo paper”, it’s printed on art papers: watercolor, linen, pearl and art recycled (a beautiful paper made from 100% recycled content for all the earth conscious folks out there). Thus the name: art album. The cover material is linen that comes in a variety of colors BUT you can upgrade to this beautiful custom designed metallic material (see images below). It’s way cool.

The pages are sturdy instead of being like magazine pages. They’re very sturdy.

And of course each album is custom designed by me to best tell your story and display your images.

{nicole} – fort worth fashion senior photographer

This week, myself and two other photographer friends ventured out to the beautiful new 7th street area to experiment with a new kind of shooting that lends towards a greater “high fashion” look. Our guinea pig, Nicole, was INCREDIBLE. I’m so excited to start offering this new look for my seniors!
