Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping by! Here you will find my favorite images from recent sessions as well as other fun stuff such as great specials, ideas, new items, and cool links. You’ll want to bookmark my site and visit often!
If I had to choose a few words to describe the type of photography I desire to create, it's fun, natural, funky, creative, fresh, different... for seniors, I'd throw in casual, edgy, classy, stylish, simple. I don't prefer the forced smiles and poses (though when working with a large family, it's sometimes the necessary evil)- I want to capture the natural smiles and expressions that make you...well, you.
I look forward to meeting you!!
Congratulations to Ms E- Senior 2012! Her mom scouted out this awesome new location (well, new to me, anyway) and boy was it chalk full of variety, texture, and character. The day was windy and the light was tricky, but we didn’t let that keep us down!

Congrats to Lauren & Mark on their engagement! I LOVE photographing couples that are soon to be wed. There’s an excitement that adds a sweetness element to the session that you I so enjoy. Something unique about this session is that it took place in the stockyards. It’s hard to believe, but in my 5 years as a photographer, I had never shot in the stockyards. No particular reason, really. But I’m so glad for Mark’s idea to go there! Now, when we showed up, we realized the stockyards on a saturday was apparently the place to be- the place was PACKED. I wondered where in the world we’d find a private, quiet place that still looked “stockyard-esque”, with great light. But sure enough, we found this little spot, TOTALLY tucked away. What a hidden treasure!

Mark spotted this green door- what a find! Good eye, Mark.

Gorgeous.

As a fellow Sooner, I particularly enjoyed this part of the session!

BOOMER SOONER.
Gotta love extended family sessions! I photographed these sweet families a couple weekends ago and were they ever fun to photograph- AND fashionable! The “grandma” did one stellar job at coordinating all the kids’ and adults’ wardrobes. A fun thing for me was my recently reupholstered velvet eggplant wingback chair worked PERFECTLY with their colors!

They were giving each other a kiss. So sweet…

I can only imagine life with three boys (having two myself). I’m guessing based upon my experience that afternoon, it’s one laughter-filled, fun home to be in!

And of course “grandma” & “grandpa” with the five grandkiddos. The balloons were such a great idea!
My sweet neighbor friend, Joanne, has been such a blessing to our family over the last few years. I think my 3 year old probably thinks she’s his grandma- he just loves to visit and play with her all the time! Last year, one of her sons was diagnosed with cancer and their lives went into a tailspin. I wanted to bless her as she’d blessed our family so much. So… I offered to bless her family with sweet memories of this precious time. It’s been a few months now, but I’m finally posting one from her session. It was a wonderful, laughter filled time and I’m so glad I got to be a part of her family for an afternoon!

I LOVE photographing engaged couples and particularly those dear to my heart. Meet Alex & Cassidy, my brother in law and soon to be sister in law in law:) They are one sweet couple with a very endearing story, so when my husband had the idea of offering to photograph their engagement portraits, I was very excited! They had one unique idea, to shoot in a coffee shop, since that’s where they first started “talking”. AND they both have some serious fashion sense!
When asking around about good coffee shops to shoot in, a fellow photographer friend suggested Avoca Coffee and BOY was that the jackpot! It has amazing light & a unique modern feel inside as well as a variety of nice spots to shoot on the exterior. All the images below until you arrive at the “green outfit” are all right there at Avoca.
Look at these barrels!!! I mean, come on.
Awesomely colored exterior.

These cool garage doors that have nice dimension and texture.
AND the coolest, realist glass coffee cups that sure do photograph well:)
Did I say I LOVE my brother in law? He’s not really that old, but it feels like we’ve been waiting forEVER for him to find “the one”. Adam has an older brother and sister both of whom I love (and their spouses). But I was telling him I feel like I’ve been waiting for MY fellow sister in law. He sure chose well:)
We were all a little awkward at the beginning (there were tons of patrons) but we all loosened up finally as you can see. Also, the coffee was delicious (Cassidy’s mocha didn’t have chocolate syrup at the bottom, but actual CHOCOLATE!) and the service and atmosphere were perfect. Go!

This expression is completely Alex. In all family pics, on the count of three, he turns on this smile. So, of course, I had to get this for good measure.
These field shots were completely unplanned and at the very end. I’m so glad we didn’t rush to get in the car! These may be my favorites.
I love you, Alex and Cassidy!
Grandparents are a gift from the LORD. “Grandmother” & “Grandfather” are my husband’s mom’s parents who live about 45 minutes from us. Since moving to Fort Worth, we’ve really enjoyed getting to be a part of their lives and, especially, their getting to be a part of our kids’ lives. My own grandma passed away earlier this year and it got me to thinking how nice it would’ve been to have a really nice, natural portrait of her. So… Adam and I visited them recently and had some fun getting them to relax and smile for the camera. So sweet…

This was THE sweetest & easiest going baby I’ve photographed in a long time.
Gotta love the hair & the drool (see left). I thought about removing it for this post but it’s just so true to reality, I had to leave it:)
I have two new favorite spots to shoot & this is one of them. In the morning, the light is fantastic and I love the variety this location offers. So much fun.
I loved this one. It reminds me of my three year old when “loving on” my 18 month old. There’s this uncontrollable “love” that he just can’t keep the lid on:)
This is my third time to photograph these super sweet kids. This was by far the happiest the sweet little girl was. She really brought her smiles with her! If I was their parents, I’d be so happy with the trio portraits! It’s always so hard to capture your three in one frame by yourself (or two in my case:)
Is this hilarious or what? The parents loved it, like this was the picture where they’re saying, “we’re done!”.
And we love you!!! I am sooo excited!!
I could not be happier, and thanks so much for the perfect wedding gift!
I am tearing up just looking and reading the comments. What a good looking couple! And what naturals in front of the camera.
Wow, Amanda, you did SUCH a great job! These are really wonderful! You are an awesome photographer!
That coffee shop looks truly amazing. Alex and Cassidy are like a couple of models, and you really brought out the best in them both! What a treasure to have this engagement album — a wonderful gift for them from a loving, super-talented sister-in-law!
